November Is Diabetes Awareness Month

My grandson has had type 1 diabetes since he was two.  He is now 9.  It’s hard on the child, but also his/her family.  Trust me, it can be very scary and I don’t deal with it every day!  Maybe this month, find out about diabetes, especially, type 1.  Share it with your children so that they can understand what a type 1 child is going through–and not tease them in school!  Can you imagine poking your fingers all day to determine what your blood sugar level is and then treating for it?  Who likes to poke your finger all day long?  I wouldn’t, but you have to do it. It’s life threatening!   Not easy, not fun and you do it ALL your life!
